Johan Kleinjan

Johan Kleinjan, an accomplished illustrator, has seamlessly transitioned towards creating compelling independent artwork in recent years. Johan Kleinjan's distinctive fusion of traditional and experimental techniques, creates a characteristically unpolished style with special use of colour. Johan’s fusion of work was inspired by diverse global experiences, like his studies at the Zokei University in Tokyo, Japan, and his residency at the Chinese Institute for Provocation.

Following a decade of intensive collaboration within the Antistrot art collective, Johan Kleinjan embarked on a journey of creative exploration, leading to transformative periods in Kronstadt, Russia, and Taipei, Taiwan. From 2010 onwards, this ended Johan at the collective Kamp Horst.
Johan Kleinjan’s dedication to evolving artistic practices and the exploration of varied mediums places him at the forefront of Artbox' contemporary scene, ready to fulfill any brief that needs colour.
